BASF’s new Ibuprofen DC 85 can help pharmaceutical companies to
eliminate steps associated with wet granulation and compaction processes
currently employed for typical ibuprofen powders. BASF plans to file a
Drug Master File (DMF) for Ibuprofen DC 85 with the U.S.
Food and Drug Administration
by the first quarter of 2007.
BASF will also showcase its portfolio of new excipients including:
· Kollidon* VA-64 Fine, which delivers advanced performance as
dry binder for direct compression and roller compaction;
· Kollidon* CL-F which is particularly suited for the manufacture
of very small tablets; and,
· Kollidon* CL-SF which helps tablets disintegrate quickly to increase
the bioavailability of active pharmaceutical ingredients
(APIs).
“The ‘Accelerator’ theme represents BASF’s ability
to blend ingredients, formulation support, research and development capabilities
and full service manufacturing facilities into enabling solutions that
can help our customers make their products better along the pharmaceutical
