Bombardier Business Aircraft on display at Airshow

At the Farnborough International Airshow 2006, July 17 to 23 in Europe, view Bombardier aircraft on static display firsthand.

Bombardier is maintaining its high profile in Europe with a significant presence at the Farnborough International Airshow 2006, July 17 to 23. In addition to presenting its wide product and services portfolio at its chalet and exhibit, the company is showcasing four of its aircraft at its static display.

Bombardier aircraft on static display at the Business Aircraft Park, from July 17 to 21, include the 86-passenger Bombardier CRJ900 regional jet, the Bombardier Q400 high-speed turboprop airliner, the super light Bombardier Learjet 45 business aircraft and the Bombardier Global Express XRS ultra long-range jet. In addition, the Bombardier Global Express jet in ASTOR (Airborne Stand-Off Radar) configuration will be on display at the Raytheon Systems Limited static display ASTOR zone. ASTOR is the UK Ministry of Defence’s new, highly sophisticated, long-range airborne ground surveillance system, which has been successfully installed on the aircraft.

Bombardier Business Aircraft continues to enjoy a commanding presence in Europe with both its products and services. Over the past four years, from 2001 to 2005, Bombardier’s business jets captured 20 per cent of the aircraft delivery market share. Its Challenger 600 Series widebody jets dominate the large aircraft segment on the continent, capturing 54 per cent of their product market share, or a total of 82 aircraft. In the past 10 months, Bombardier began operations at its new parts warehouse in Frankfurt and almost doubled the available maintenance area for Learjet aircraft by adding another hangar at its Lufthansa Bombardier Aviation Services facility in Berlin.

Bombardier Aerospace’s strong position in Europe is also fuelled by the established popularity of its regional aircraft. The CRJ900 is an 86-seat regional jet with the best operating economics in its class. It has been ordered by, or is in service with airlines in Africa, Europe and the U.S. The Q400 airliner is leading a renaissance in turboprop aircraft because of its 360-knot (667 km/h) speed, superb passenger comfort and the lowest cost per seat in the regional aircraft industry. It has been ordered by, or is in service with, airlines throughout the world. These aircraft are members of the CRJ and Q-Series families, world leaders in the regional aircraft marketplace.

Bombardier officials will also be on hand to discuss NATO Flying Training in Canada (NFTC). After six years of successful operations, NFTC is still the benchmark against which all other military pilot training programs are measured. Bombardier is currently leveraging its unique training system integrator experience as part of the Vector Flying Training Services team bidding for the Training System Partner role for the United Kingdom Military Flying Training System (UKMFTS) and on the Aermacchi team for the Singapore Basic Wings Course training bid. The company is considering other similar opportunities worldwide.

The Bombardier Aerospace Chalet is located at C1-3 and its exhibit location at Hall 3/D8. The Farnborough International Airshow attracts exhibitors from more than 30 countries and over 130,000 trade visitors.
