Polyurethane gel seals cables for SEGMENTO technology Water tight cable entries, simple installation and permanent sealing for SEGMENTO cable seals thanks to the highly flexible polyurethane Technogel.
SEGMENTO, the new, intelligent cable sealing system from Hauff-Technik GmbH & Co. KG, Herbrechtingen,, Europe’s leading manufacturer of cable and pipe entry sealing systems, seals cables quickly, easily, and reliably. The system is modular and offers cable bushings for external sealing of control, communication and mobile radio cables. It is ideal for bundling together a large number of cables with diameters between 5 and 51 millimeters in a minimum of space in buildings, mobile radio containers and switching stations using individual segments that can be combined as required. Within the segments, the highly-flexible polyurethane gel Technogel* envelops the cables and lines, thereby providing excellent sealing properties. This high-performance material, which is based on polyurethane raw materials from Bayer MaterialScience and is processed exclusively by Technogel Germany GmbH, Berlingerode, molds itself to each cable contour for a lasting perfect fit – and this holds true for even the smallest cable diameters. Moreover, it also boasts outstanding low-temperature flexibility and a high degree of compensation for movement.
Installation is incredibly easy thanks to the SEGMENTO technology – simply use a sizer to select a segment to fit the diameter and feed the cable through the cable entry. After installation, tighten the corresponding screws in the segment until an audible signal is heard. If subsequent installation is required, cables can be retrofitted by simply exchanging individual segments. This process involves a minimum of effort and eliminates the need to open up the entire system. The different colored segments can be assigned separately, and spare places can be kept available for retrofit installations. The principle of colored segments also allows cables to be sorted by function, e.g. data cables. This area is just one example of the close collaboration between Bayer
MaterialScience and its customers in the development of tailor-made system
solutions with polyurethanes. Since March 1, 2007, the company has been
operating its global systems business under the BaySystems* umbrella brand.
This move affects both existing product brands in this segment and the
global network of polyurethane systems houses. Plastics Processing Jobs - Post Employment Opportunity!
