The revolution of sifting
Manufacturing News Center - With its new SIRIUS plansifter,
Buhler has set new standards in this area as in others before

The smallest of the family, the
handy two compartment SIRIUS plansifter. The integrated
drive unit is located in the center. It causes the entire
system to gyrate in precisely calculated oscillations to
guarantee best sieving results.

SYNOPSIS-October 28, 2004-Jobwerx News-To remain competitive,
you must know your customers needs and offer them solutions to satisfy
them. With its outstanding sifting efficiency, its maximum design flexibility,
and its unsurpassed sanitation standards, the SIRIUS plansifter is second
to none.
Sirius, the "Dog Star", is the brightest star in the night sky - 20
times more luminous than the sun. It not only impresses experts of the
night skies, but also fascinates amateur astronomers. And what the star
Sirius means to stargazers is what the SIRIUS plansifter means to the
flour milling industry - a superlative star second to none.
Defining the sanitation benchmark
Food purity and safety laws as well as consumers demand hygienically
perfect products. With its new SIRIUS plansifter, Buhler has set new
standards in this area as in others before. All inner walls and doors
are provided with high-grade insulation, effectively preventing condensation
inside the sifter. All parts in contact with the product are made of
stainless steel or high-grade polyurethane. This systematic selection
of materials and the elimination of screw fastenings in the individual
compartments ensure the high and reliable product safety demanded by
customers today.
Ever-higher throughput, ever higher sophistication
SIRIUS, the new plansifter generation from Buhler, can be assembled
from individual modules. Whether two, four, six, eight, or ten compartments
are required, the sifter design can be tailored with maximum flexibility
to customers' specific needs. Its high sifting efficiency allows up
to 180 metric tons of product to be handled per day by a ten-compartment
plansifter. Sirius is Buhler's response to the increasing demand for
sifters with ever-higher throughput capacities and sophistication both
by the flour milling industry and for classifying powdered or granulated
products. The sifter's maximum dynamic acceleration improves the sifting
action. Its globally leading NOVA sieve technology is distinguished
by efficient sieve cleaning, which ensures excellent sanitation and
minimizes maintenance.
Flexibility through modular design
From the smallest two-compartment SIRIUS plansifter to the compact four
compartment unit and the larger six-, eight-, and ten-compartment machines,
the Buhler SIRIUS plansifter offers the ideal solution to all customer
requirements. The modules can be selected individually, enabling them
to be tailored exactly to the customer's specific needs. This is as
true for plant rebuilds as it is for expansions. Dismantled into its
separate modules, SIRIUS is easy to transport and assemble at the customer'
site. This benefit is especially felt when building space is tight,
allowing optimal use to be made of the available space.
