The replacement lid for the Robot Coupe Food Processor, provided by China Array Plastics, uses a GE Plastics food grade Lexan resin.

China Array Plastics LLC (CAP), Pittsfield, Massachusetts, USA, a full service custom Injection Molder specializing in high performance thermoplastics for a number of niche industries, has introduced a replacement lid for the Robot Coupe Model R8 Food Processor.

The new lid, injection molded from clear Lexan* polycarbonate (PC) resin from GE Plastics, features excellent cleanability, chemical resistance, impact strength, and dimensional stability. It comes complete with silicone gasket, stainless steel turnbuckle, inserts, and screws, and installs in seconds.

“This replacement lid represents China Array’s first entry into the food services market,” said Carl Olson, vice president sales and marketing, China Array. “China Array has been manufacturing high performance thermoplastic parts for the dairy equipment market for 27 years. Moving into the food services arena, which has many of the same issues of sanitation, chemical resistance, and durability as the dairy industry, was a natural extension for the company’s product lines.”

China Array’s strengths are engineering, design and materials expertise for high performance plastics. The firm brings elements of these capabilities to bear on every part it manufactures.

“The replacement lid is an excellent example of China Array’s approach,” said Olson. “Working with GE Plastics, we selected the optimum food grade of Lexan resin for this application. This particular grade of Lexan resin is perfectly suited for filling out large, structural parts, such as the 14-in. diameter lid, while keeping stress low resulting in greater strength and durability. It molds to an absolute smooth finish with brilliant clarity for superior cleaning, sanitation and visibility.”

The replacement lid for the Robot Coupe Food Processor has rigorous demands that fit well with the China Array strategy of manufacturing plastics components for challenging environments.

“We hope that this will be the first of many parts China Array makes for the food services industry,” Olson concluded.
