Packaging provider Crown honored with Latincan Awards Crown Holdings a leading supplier of packaging products to consumer marketing companies, through its subsidiary CROWN Envases Mexico, wins Supreme Canmaker Award.
CROWN Envases Mexico, S.A. de C.V., a subsidiary of Crown Holdings, Inc.
(NYSE: CCK) (Crown), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, has won the Supreme Canmaker
Award in the Latincan Award contest. The company also received top honors
for the second consecutive year in the Two-Piece Decorative category,
this year for the vibrant package designed for 7-UP ICE, a seasonal brand
for GEUSA – Grupo de Embotelladoras Unidas, S.A. de C.V., a subsidiary
of the Pepsi-Cola company. The awards were given out during the Latincan
conference, held in May 2006 in Puerto Rico.
Crown was also recognized this year for the striking package created
for 7-UP ICE, a product marketed only in the summer months. With a special
motto of “Intensamente Refrescante” (Intensely Refreshing),
the container’s graphics reflect the freshness and coolness of the
beverage. The package also features a mascot, Fido Dido, to increase appeal
