In packaging, Topas® COC is often used as a barrier layer in multilayer films and in polyethylene blends, where it improves stiffness, maintains or lowers haze, and increases hot-tack and ultimate seal strength. Its multilayer films thermoform easily on existing machines yielding optimum barrier performance usually at forming temperatures slightly lower or equal to those used for PVC.

Typical applications for Topas® COC include pharmaceutical push-through packaging, flexible food packaging, medical and laboratory containers, precision optics, and printer toner binder resins.
