Ciba Chemicals full line of cosmetic grade pigments

Ciba Specialty Chemicals enters the decorative cosmetic market featuring a range of oil-dispersible pearls, inorganic oxides and organic lake pigments.

Ciba Specialty Chemicals has entered the decorative cosmetic market with its launch of the Ciba* CALISHA* Color Collection, a full line of cosmetic grade pigments that features a selection of oil-dispersible (OD) pearls, inorganic oxides and organic lake pigments. OD pearl pigments disperse quickly in the oil phase and reduce dusting, thus minimizing cross-contamination of color. OD pearls compress easily in powders and enhance the deposition of color on the skin. These easy-to-incorporate materials help speed manufacturing.

The CALISHA Color Collection includes three effect pigment lines:

- The CALISHA Romance Collection is made up of smooth, soft colors that offer excellent coverage and opacity. The collection is comprised of OD pearl pigments. These effect pigments offer soft, subtle tones, which are key to today’s radiant skin and makeup formulations.

- The CALISHA Contemporary Collection is made up of warm, brilliant effect pigments that offer excellent coverage and bright shades. The collection offers OD pearl pigments in a larger particle size, as well as a wide range of iron oxides and ultramarine pigments. This line of pigments creates warm, beautiful tones in today’s new shades of makeup, adding brilliance to the skin.

- The CALISHA Art Deco Collection is made up of bold effect pigments, offering a range of coverage options and exciting shades. The collection provides the largest particle OD pearl pigments, which have a sparkly effect. It also includes lakes and deep shades of chromium green pigments. The larger particle OD pearls allow light to pass through, lending less opacity and creating a more pronounced visual “pop” on the skin.
