Bellingham manufacturer introduces an electrically conductive resin-based
material that could change the electronics world.
Manufacturing News Center
Bellingham, WA --May 14--New pelletized proprietary recipe creates
a vast family of highly conductive polymers that can be molded into
virtually any shape or dimension associated with the range of plastics,
rubbers and other polymers.
The innovative material can turn cell phones into their own antennas,
resulting in fewer dropped calls, better battery life and clearer reception.
The highly conductive resin, dubbed Electriplast, could also improve
the efficiency of LED lighting, in-floor radiant heating, defibrillators
and pacemakers.
Integral Technologies Inc., of Vancouver, B.C., founded in 1996, represents
Electriplast and has raised $5.7 million in a private placement of stock
and warrants.
DuPont also is expanding its materials
and technology, offering conductive nylons for automotive fuel systems
with new DuPontT Zytel® CDV and with a new DuPontT Delrin® acetal resin
that stands up in hot diesel fuel. The new materials made their debut
at the SAE World Congress.
