Dow's new polyethylene resins for plastics rotational moulding

A technology leader in plastics Dow Chemical Company announces that an improved portfolio of polyethylene resins for the rotational moulding market just got better.

The range of DOWLEX* Polyethylene Resins from The Dow Chemical Company available to the rotational moulding market adds more power to its plastics portfolio.

As one of the largest global suppliers of plastics in the industry, Dow is committed to expanding markets and transforming technologies to help customers innovate, differentiate and create value.

Two new resins, available in power and granules, have recently been introduced to the market and are already providing results for rotational moulders. Compared to existing Dow resins, the new grades demonstrate a markedly wider processing window and a shorter moulding cycle, while maintaining excellent environmental stress crack resistance and impact balance.

The new resins - DOWLEX 2629 UE and DOWLEX 2631 UE in granules, and DOWLEX 2629.10 UE and DOWLEX 2631.10 UE in powder - replace the earlier grades DOWLEX NG 2429 UE and DOWLEX NG 2431 UE in granules, and DOWLEX NG 2429.10 UE and DOWLEX 2431.10 UE in powder.

DOWLEX 2629UE Polyethylene Resin for rotational and injection moulding is specifically designed for applications requiring excellent environmental stress crack resistance and impact strength combined with low warpage and good processing. Processing and Stabilisation: DOWLEX 2629UE Polyethylene Resin is fully heat and UV stabilised resulting in a wide processing latitude, good colour retention and long life expectancy.

DOWLEX 2631UE Polyethylene Resin for rotational and injection moulding is specifically designed for applications requiring excellent processability and aesthetics combined with low warpage and good mechanical properties.

DOWLEX 2432 UE, another product within Dow's product portfolio for rotational moulding, is unaffected by the introduction of the new resins. DOWLEX 2432 UE has been in the market for several years and is recognized for its strong performance in large storage tank applications.
