DuPont Barrier Helps
Carpet Spills Disappear... for Good
Manufacturing News Center - The barrier consists
of a thin film laminated to the top surface of the foam cushion.
SEATTLE, WA, USA -- September 21, 2004 -- Jobwerx News
-- New Stainmaster™ carpet cushion promises easier, more effective cleanup
of carpet spills and fewer problems with entrapped moisture thanks to
its DuPont™ Hytrel® breathable moisture barrier. The barrier consists
of a thin film laminated to the top surface of the foam cushion.
"When carpet cushion is protected by Hytrel®, spilled liquid that soaks
through the carpet cannot penetrate into the cushion," said Lisa Roessler,
market development leader for Hytrel®. "As a result, spills can be completely
removed by extraction cleaning so that stains don't keep reappearing
as they often do with ordinary carpet cushions," she added.

The breathable feature of the Hytrel® barrier film also fights under-carpet
moisture problems. Unlike impermeable films, Hytrel® promotes the transformation
of trapped water into moisture vapor, which can then escape through
the film, according to Roessler.
Stainmaster™ carpet cushion with Hytrel® moisture barrier has another
benefit, too. When installed with Stainmaster® carpet, it adds at least
three years to the carpet's warranty.
Stainmaster™ carpet cushion with DuPont™ Hytrel® moisture barrier is
manufactured and marketed by Carpenter Co., Richmond, Va.
Stainmaster® carpets are produced by leading carpet mills under license
from INVISTA™. For information is available about Stainmaster™ carpet
