2007-04-20 News Release
Module communicates with packaging lines The latest EtherNet IP scanner module communicates with management systems and between machine controls on packaging lines.
A new option module give the PacDrive* C600 and P600 automation controllers
an EtherNet/IP master (network scanner) capability, allowing EtherNet/IP
I/O to be interfaced directly to these controllers.
The PacDrive automation controllers provide both motion and logic funcdtions,
eliminating the need for conventional PLCs or PACs. The self-contained
hardware module is based on Hilscher’s netX communication processor
and complements a software EtherNet/IP slave already available for all
the PacDrive automation controllers. The new master allows the connection
of up to 64 slaves. *PacDrive is a trademark of ELAU. ELAU AG, part of the Schneider Electric Group, is one of the most experienced
players in automation technology. ELAU has the backing of a strong parent
that will be giving the company systematic help in achieving the joint
goal of becoming market leader in packaging automation.
ELAU set the world automation standard for machines in the consumer packaged
goods industries with the introduction of its PacDrive automation system
with integrated motion/logic control. The Company has become the world's
largest and fastest growing automation supplier for packaging machinery.
