10th Plastics, Printing and Packaging Exhibition in Tanzania Explore the vast and high potential 380 million consumers market of East Africa at the 10th annual Plastics, Printing and Packaging Exhibition.
The East Africa's International Trade Exhibition for Plastics, Printing and Packaging is the largest trade event held annually in Tanzania, the hub of the vast East African market. The exhibition attracts exhibitors from countries and visitors from all over East & Central Africa, thus giving exhibitors an excellent opportunity to explore several countries at one time. The Foreign countries that participated last year were France, Italy, Kuwait, Thailand, Malaysia, Singpore, Hong Kong, India, Taiwan, Oman, Pakistan, South Africa, Phillipines, Zambia, Egypt, Brazil, Kenya, U.A.E, SaudiI Arabia Turkey, Yemen, U.K & Tanzania. Exhibitors participated from 32 countries last year in this multi-sector trade exhibition that provides the best platform for foreign companies to explore the African market in Plastics, Printing and Packaging and more. The response was overwhelming as 85% of the exhibitors reported high business prospects. The exhibitor survey indicated prospective and confirmed business transactions worth US$ 21 million during the 4 days of the event itself.
A total of 9,700 trade visitors attended the exhibition last year. More than 1,500 overseas trade visitors visited the exhibition from countries like Burundi, Hong Kong, South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda & Mozambique. Tanzania over the past few years has emerged as a major regional trade center. This is mainly due to a very friendly and business like atmosphere it offers to foreign investors and products. Duties are considerably low and re-exports to neighboring countries are either very low or exempted. This year's major categories include, Industrial / Machinery, Printing & Packaging, Plastics & Rubber and Automotive. The United Republic of Tanzania is located in eastern Africa on the Indian Ocean between Mozambique and Kenya and includes the island of Zanzibar. The capital, Dar Es Salaam, is located along the eastern coast on the Indian Ocean. Tanzania covers an area roughly twice the size of California. The terrain includes coastal plains, a central plateau, and highlands in the north and south. It is home to Mt. Kilimanjaro (the highest point in Africa), Lake Victoria (the second largest lake in the world), and the Great Rift Valley. The climate varies from tropical along the coast to temperate in the highlands. Natural resources include hydropower, tin, phosphates, iron ore, coal, diamonds, gemstones, gold, natural gas, and nickel. More than 37.1 million people live in Tanzania.
