. Booth 624: General Dynamics Information Systems and Technology

HIGHLIGHTS:

. Abrams M1A2 SEP Version 2 with TUSK: The latest configuration of the world’s finest main battle tank, the Abrams, will be on display. See the latest technology and survivability enhancements being applied to the current fleet.

. General Dynamics’ Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) Technology Demonstrator: JLTV is expected to provide the U.S. Army and Marine Corps with a family of more-survivable vehicles with greater performance, payload and mobility than the High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV). The demonstrator displays 21st century technology, a unique protective design, and other capabilities General Dynamics’ is exploring to be applied to this class of Light Combat Tactical Vehicles.

. LAV H High Capacity Technology Demonstrator: This LAV II/III test platform demonstrates an improved mine-blast protection hull, mine-blast soldier seating, digital architecture with power management/data bus, 360-degree situational awareness, and 55K lb suspension and driveline to meet evolving operational needs.

. Mobile Detection Assessment Response System (MDARS): The Army’s first semi-autonomous robot to enter production, MDARS autonomously patrols inventory-sensitive compounds using existing roads with normal traffic, while providing a first-responder capability that locates, challenges and tracks potentially dangerous intruders without risk to guard forces.

. FCS: MGV Variants and Common Chassis Progress: The Mounted Combat System (MCS), Command and Control Vehicle (C2V) and Reconnaissance and Surveillance Vehicle (RSV) being developed by GDLS are three key Manned Ground Vehicles aimed at bringing significant improvements to the Future Combat Systems Brigade Combat Team (FBCT) in the areas of force lethality, survivability and mobility. All mission variants are integrated on the common chassis to insure improved reliability, supportability and affordability. View the latest information on each of these MGV variants.

. Land Warrior: See Land Warrior at work in a simulated mission scenario, including interoperability with Stryker vehicles so warfighters can access and share real-time voice, video and data communications with commanders. View new Future Force Warrior simulations of voice-control capabilities that enable hands-free control of the Warrior system.

. WIN-T Warfighter Information Network: Recently restructured by the U.S. Army to deliver initial on-themove capabilities to the force sooner, WIN-T is a mobile tactical network for on-the-move communications among tactical warfighters, platforms and command posts. The WIN-T demonstration showcases critical technologies and capabilities proven through actual scenarios including mobile ad hoc networking using a three-tier communications architecture for ground, airborne and satellite layers and high bandwidth on demand while operating on the move and at-the-quick halt.

. Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) Handheld, Manpack and Small Form Fit (HMS): The first twochannel JTRS radio running the Soldier Radio Waveform (SLICE 1.04p) on a Software Communication Architecture (SCA) platform will be on display and demonstrated. Channel one will show voice communications with a legacy SINCGARS radio while channel two will show data transmissions with a small form factor radio via the SLICE 1.04p waveform. A Network Enabler Module running both voice and data on a reference platform will also be on display.

. ARAT/BRAT Reactive Armor: Mission-proven reactive armor for the Abrams M1A1 Tank and the Bradley Fighting Vehicle utilizes insensitive, high-energy explosives to provide state-of-the-art protection against a variety of anti-armor munitions, including shoulder-fired rocket-propelled grenades.

. Counter-MANPADS Aircraft-Protection System (CMAPS): A ground-based system designed to detect and defeat shoulder-fired, heat-seeking missiles used to attack aircraft during takeoffs and landings.

. MK47, STRIKER40 40mm Advanced Lightweight Grenade Weapon System: A major advancement in crew-served weapon systems, the MK47 uses the latest targeting and fire-control technology to provide more target impact with less collateral impact.

. M2 Enhanced Gun: The M2 Enhanced Gun provides the war fighter with new features and desig improvements based on existing M2HB technology, such as the quick-change barrel system and flash hider, eliminating head space and timing issues.

. GAU-19/A: GAU-19/A: The GAU-19/A three-barrel 12.7mm Gatling gun helps the war fighter prevail by providing violent suppression in both air-to-air and air-to-ground missions.

. XM312: The XM312 is a lightweight, portable machine gun. This next-generation replacement for current heavy machine guns efficiently manages recoil and is highly portable in small dismounted units.

. Secure Communications: General Dynamics brings you “What’s Next” in Type 1 Secure Communications solutions from network to desktop to individual. Secure voice and data communication solutions such as the Sectera® Edge™ (SME PED) wireless phone/PDA and the Sectéra vIPer™ Phone for Voice over IP networks will be demonstrated. High-speed, mobile network encryption solutions, such as the TACLANE™-Micro and TACLANE-Router will be shown.

. Joint Service Lightweight Standoff Chemical Agent Detector: JSLSCAD is a detection system designed to provide ground, air and sea platforms of the 21st century with state-of-the-art remote chemical agent detection. The technology is based on a passive infrared detection system that automatically searches specific regions of the surrounding atmosphere for chemical agent vapor clouds.

. M1001 40mm High Velocity Canister Cartridge (HVCC): For use with the Mk19 and Mk 47 grenade launchers. Type-classified with full materiel release, the M1001 cartridge is designed for close-in combat and contains flechettes that disperse in a widening pattern from the muzzle and are capable of target penetration out to 100 meters.

. 25x137mm High Explosive Air Burst (HEAB) Fuze: Under contract by the US Army, General Dynamics will complete a technology study and ballistic demonstration of the fuze that is scaleable through 50mm cartridge applications. This air bursting fuze utilizes a Command to Arm (CTA) Safe and Arm (S&A) device and has been proven to work in 25x137mm, 30x173mm and Super40mm cartridges.

. 120mm IM HE-T High Explosive Cartridge: Provides the Armor Force with an improved infantry support capability. The IM HE-T will complement the tank's current main gun ammunition with an IM compliant full bore HE warhead capable of defeating a target set that includes bunkers, fortifications, light armor and personnel.

. 120mm Mortar Family: Used extensively by U.S. forces throughout all active combat zones, the 120mm mortar is the counter-battery weapon of choice for maneuver force leaders. General Dynamics has the only facility to have ever manufactured the shell bodies and have done so for the past 11 years.

. 155mm M795 Artillery: The U.S. armed forces state-of -the-art 155mm high explosive artillery projectile. It is deployed in the GWOT and the body has been manufactured exclusively at General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems' Scranton Operations since 1997.
