GE Plastics makes major investment GE Plastics announces plans for an investment of 62 million Euro in additional production capacity for its line of xtreme Lexan polycarbonate resins at Bergen op Zoom.
The company will convert existing manufacturing capabilities at its Lexan
Resin facility in Bergen op Zoom, and use current resources to enable
the production of high performance products like Lexan EXL, SLX, DMX,
and XHT resins, which offer customers unique properties for product differentiation.
This investment will also enable the production of other innovative and
proprietary copolymer products that are currently under development. Xtreme Lexan resins In addition to its commitment to produce innovative products, GE is also
investing in a safe and healthy environment. Over the last five years,
GE’s Bergen op Zoom facility has invested 50 million Euro in environmental,
health, and safety programs and exemplifies innovation and efficiency
in safety management. The site has earned the Global Star Health &
Safety certificate from GE Corporate and ISO 14001 certification. GE’s
Bergen Op Zoom facility first opened in 1971 and now spans 200 hectares
and delivers a broad range of materials solutions and customers services.
