Igus Ethernet Plastics
Cable Carriers for Constricted Spaces
Plastics ethernet cable carriers ideal for continuous-flex high-volume
data transfer systems applications in constricted spaces.
Igus® Inc., the leading developer of Energy Chain® cable carriers and
Chainflex® continuous-flex cables, offers Chainflex CF14 CAT 5 and CAT
6 cables for high-volume data transfer systems in tight spaces.
CF14 is designed to withstand millions of cycles at a small bending radius-10
times the outer diameter or even smaller, depending on the application.
It is ideal for continuous-flex applications in constricted spaces. The
CF14 CAT 5 cable has the capability to transfer 100mbps while the CF14
CAT 6 can transfer as much as 250 mbps. These levels are required for
communications equipment and other types of computer and electronics applications.
The CF14 has a (thermoplasitc elastomer) TPE-based outer jacket, which
is halogen-free to prevent the release of toxic or corrosive gases in
the event of a fire. This material also enables the cable to operate at
low and high temperatures, and provides oil, coolant, UV and abrasion
resistance. The copper shield is braided into a strong, yet highly flexible
design over an aluminum foil to enable total shielding. A TPE-based inner
jacket is included to meet the requirements of long-lasting, high performance
in a cable carrier.

The Chainflex CF14 CAT 5 cable is available with four twisted pairs of
conductors and an outer diameter of approximately .21 or .41 inches. The
CAT 6 version is available also with four twisted pairs and an outer diameter
or .39 inches.
