The future of plastics molding in the extrusion industry

AUREX from iNOEX is an innovative ultrasonic system for quality control of plastics materials in the extrusion pipe and tube manufacturing process.

Once again iNOEX will showcast it´s products at the world’s No. 1 plastics and rubber fair. The worldwide plastics and rubber industry is putting its best foot forward in this K year. Machine builders, raw materials manufacturers and processors can boast good results and, a few risk factors aside, the outlook is very optimistic.

This year iNOEX presents itself at K 07, Düsseldorf, in Hall 10, Booth No. 10/D74, as the leader in innovative equipment in the extrusion industry.

Co-extrusion: Measure even the smallest layer.
In ultrasonics, iNOEX starts the era of digital measurement. The digitalisation of recorded ultrasonic signals permit a detailed analysis of incoming echoes. In this way, even superimposed signals of several layers are differentiable.

The extraordinary system, AUREX, on display at the plastics and rubber show, is a quality control ultrasonic system (digital instead of analogue) for extruding plastics pipe and tube, measuring and controlling the conformity of product parameters to given standards:

AUREX control guarantees an optimisation of product features and process engineering. This is how quality assurance, wall thickness minimisation and raw material savings can be achieved. The system is a reliable base for the automatic documentation of quality data and wall thickness control besides the automated extrusion die centering.

AUREX is suitable for the integration into OEM machinery via CAN-Bus and Profibus and equally for retrofitting into existing lines, in this case with its own operation terminal. Reproducible quality with AUREX, for pipes, tubes and cables.

AUREX documents all relevant quality data and can therefore provide evidence on quality in compliance with global standards. AUREX systems are suitable for the integration into new plastics extrusion machinery or for retrofitting into existing plastics extrusion lines.

The system in short.

AUREX is configured in modules. A tailor-made AUREX system encompasses the components hereunder, always based on the specific features of your plastsis extrusion process and your customer’s markets:

• Measuring mechanics
• Intelligent ultrasonic sensor (ius)
• Terminal (not required for the integration via CAN-Bus-/Profibus)

Innovations by iNOEX:

• 100 % wall thickness measurement: AUREX ERS completely scans the pipe in length wise direction and around the circumference. No spot escapes from this detection!
• Automatic calibration: Ultrasonic technology is influenced by temperature. In order to prevent temperature from influencing measuring values, iNOEX invented the automatic calibration over 20 years ago: AUREX continuously determines the actual weight per metre (kg/m) based on the gravimetric data (kg/h) and the haul-off speed (m/min.). Based on the weight per metre, the ultrasonic measurement is calibrated, independent of temperatures in the measured spot. These measured values are always absolute figures!
• Reliable wall thickness, controlled reduction to bottom standards: Due to the fact that AUREX always provides absolute measuring values, geometric dimensions can be optimised, i.e. reduced to minimum standards. Minimum set points for wall thickness are manually entered into the AUREX terminal. Based on gravimetric data, the AUREX system will then automatically adapt weight per metre set points to a lower level.

• Large diameter pipes up to 2000 mm

• Multi-layer tubes/pipes, starting at 0,05 mm wall thickness
