Alliance with European Supplier of Electro Chemical Machining
ExtrudeHone Group of Kennametal acquires VMB, Diva-Tec and VMB Entgrattechnik
of Germany a leading European supplier of machining technologies and solutions.
This acquisition, combined with the technology of Kennametal's ExtrudeHone
ECM (Electro Chemical Machining) group, creates one of the world's leading
providers of ECM solutions. ExtrudeHone, a supplier of market leading
engineered component process technology, joined Kennametal in March 2005.
The addition of the VMB / Diva-Tec Group, which employs 140 people in
Babenhausen and Erkheim, Germany, will provide ExtrudeHone a more complete
product range, complementary technologies and a broader array of engineering
expertise. The new ExtrudeHone GmbH, Remscheid, ECM group will be headquartered
in Erkheim, Germany
ExtrudeHone, part of the Kennametal group since early 2005, is a manufacturer
of deburring and polishing machines and part of the Kennametal group of
Companies. Extrude Hone has been in operation for over 40 years and is
globally respected- as being a highly innovative and preferred supplier
of leading technology equipment for the surface finishing and deburring
sectors within diverse industries such as aerospace, automotive, high
purity etc., as well as for tool design and manufacture.
In Europe and beyond the companies VMB and DIVA-TEC have a leading position
as suppliers of sophisticated manual and fully-automated electrochemical
deburring and contouring machines.
VMB_Entgrattechnik builds machines and fixtures for electrolytic deburring
and precision-machining of metal precision parts. Supplementary equipment
for ECM systems and metal-cleaning systems for cleaning metal workpieces
before and/or after deburring round off their range.
The acquisition expands Extrude Hone's product range of Electrochenical
(ECM) Equipment and is complemented by Thermal Deburring (TEM) and Abrasive
Flow Machines (AFM). This integration is an investment for the future
and strategically positions Kennametal. Extude Hone, VMB And DIVA-TEC
for long-term growth and enhances the combined capabilities of these entities.
As a customer of Extrude Hone, VMB and DIVA-TEC will immediately benefit
from the combined expertise across a wider range of advanced process technologies
and solutions as well as an extensive worldwide sales and service network.
Furthermore, VMB Entgrattechnik will continue to offer electrochemical
subcontract services and the range of deburring services in the Extrude
Hone subcontract centers will be extended.
No changes in the qualified contact personnel of the each of the companies
with regard to sales and service are expected.
