Promoting
Value Throughout the Life Cycle
Manufacturing News Center
Seattle, WA --Jobwerx News -- People will make their purchases where
they are offered economic products and top-class services. This ancient
virtue is as true as ever before. Nobody knows their production systems
better than the original equipment manufacturer.
Managing the life cycle of your plant in the long term, takes good planning
and predictive maintenance which is much less expensive than poorly
thought-out acquisitions and unplanned maintenance.
There are a couple of recently launched programs designed to help plant
managers get the most from their equipment. Here is some insight.
Bühler AG offers customized care in the fields of automation, process,
training, and service. Their program helps customers decide which production
system to invest in, how implement it and how to maintain and enhance
its value.
Decision-Making Phase
Buhler says that customers’ needs and their investment decision-making
criteria are as varied as the customers themselves. Once a customer
has decided to spend money on a new machine or production system, Buhler
will develop different plant concepts, show the advantages and disadvantages
of the various machines, and help the customer select the system best
suited to his specific purposes. If a process is to be changed, Buhler
will establish feasibility studies showing the benefits and drawbacks
of the different casting processes, supplying a valuable basis for evaluation
of the most economic process.
This phase combines the automation system, the die casting machine,
the peripheral equipment – furnace, spray unit, robot, trimming press,
belt conveyors, and exhaust hoods – into a smoothly functioning casting
cell.
Implementation Phase:
Once the customer has decided which plant concept will offer him the
greatest benefits and highest profitability, the management will have
a clear picture of the future plant.
Experienced Buhler service engineers will install and start up the new
manufacturing systems. Every start-up is completed by CE certification
by Buhler.
Their global program also contains a training component. Machine maintenance
and set-up crews can receive instruction on hydraulics, electrical engineering,
and set-up, and operation and maintenance of the peripheral equipment
can be undertaken.
