2007-02-24 News Release
Lanxess Chemicals Stabilizers for Biodiesel The Fill Up Freshness brochure provides plenty of information about LANXESS chemicals group stabilizers for the transportation and storage of biodiesel.
The leading supplier of biodiesel stabilizers presents the antioxidants
from its Baynox* line. The latest brochure provides plenty of information
about the company’s biodiesel stabilizers, and antioxidants from
its Baynox line in this richly illustrated publication written in English
language accessible to end users.
The oxidation of oils, fats and biodiesel through atmospheric oxygen
is known as rancidity. Heat, light and other stress factors accelerate
this process so that the biodiesel quickly gets rancid. The consequences
of this oxidation are, on the one hand, a decomposition of the biodiesel
into short-chained fatty acids and, on the other hand, the formation of
insoluble polymers (gums). These can cause damage to the engine and the
injection system. The Baynox biodiesel stabilizers from LANXESS The new brochure explains the mechanism for the oxidation of biodiesel and includes details about the chemical mode of action of Baynox and Baynox plus. The 16-page, English-language publication is available from LANXESS’ Basic Chemicals Business Unit by fax request to +49 214 30-95921261. Answers to product- and application-specific questions can be found on the Internet. * Baynox is a registered trademark of LANXESS AG.
