LANXESS increases prices for two basic chemicals Effective immediately specialty chemicals biz LANXESS has raised prices worldwide for hexane diol and trimethylol propane basic chemicals.
In Europe, the price per metric ton for these two basic chemicals is to increase by EUR 60 and elsewhere by USD 200. These increases are being caused by significant rises in production and transport costs and by partial adjustments to shifts in the exchange rate between the euro and the U.S. dollar. The price per metric ton of TMP will increase by EUR 250 and elsewhere by USD 400 owing to the drastic rise in manufacturing costs. The primary factors behind this price increase are higher raw material and energy expenses, but rising logistics costs have also played a role. TMP is used, for example, in the manufacture of high grade coating resins, fibers, high temperature resistant polymers and adhesives. The important basic chemicals such as TMP are used in the chemical industry to produce coatings, plastics, polyurethanes and pigments among other products and for the manufacture of lubricants and fluids. LANXESS is a leader in specialty chemicals with 2006 sales of EUR 6.94
billion and around 14,500 employees in 21 countries. The company is represented
at 47 production sites worldwide. The core business of LANXESS is the
development, manufacture and sale of specialty chemicals, plastics, rubber
and intermediates. Got a Cool Job in Chemicals?- Get the word out today! Our Dedicated Portal Helps U- $ave
