2006-09-25 News Release
Chemicals price hike for TMP Chemicals group raises prices for trimethylolpropane in Europe due to drastic increases for raw material, energy and logistics costs.
With immediate effect, LANXESS is increasing its prices for trimethylolpropane
(TMP) in Europe by EUR 150 per metric ton and in the overseas markets
by USD 200 per metric ton. According to Wolfgang Schafer, Marketing Manager
for Polyols and Oxidation Products in the Basic Chemicals business unit,
the reasons for this measure are drastically increased raw material, energy
and logistics costs. The Basic Chemicals business unit belongs to the Chemical Intermediates
segment, which achieved total sales in 2005 of EUR 1.535 billion.
