Mikron Machining, Assembly and Plastics Technology
Divisions Sales Up

Positive response to new product development and continuity with all Machining, Assembly and Plastics businesses for The Mikron Group.

As Seen On Fox 250x250

The Mikron Group, a global player in machining and assembly systems and component production, reported order intake of CHF 254 million and net sales of CHF 261 million for the first nine months of the current business year. Order intake was down by around 9% year-on-year, while net sales were up by about 9%. The trend seen in the first half of the year has therefore continued, as announced. The Mikron Group confidently predicts that its operating result (EBIT) for the 2005 business year will at least reach break-even point. Find information about Mikron Group.

Mixed trends in the Production Equipment segment

In the Production Equipment segment, the two divisions’ business activities trended in different directions, as was the case in the first half of the year. In the Machining Technology division (machining systems and cutting tools), both order intake and net sales were up on the previous year. The “Mikron NRG-50” machining system presented as a world first at EMO 2005 in Hanover met with a very positive response from industry insiders. Order intake and net sales volumes in the Assembly Technology division (assembly systems) have yet to meet expectations. However, several large projects, some in new applications, are currently ensuring a good capacity utilization rate. Encouragingly, the entire business segment has won several new customers during the current business year. Find information about machining systems.

Satisfactory trend in the Components segment

In the Components segment, the Plastics Technology division slightly increased order intake and net sales year-on-year. New engineering orders remained slightly below expectations. As expected, the production output for a major project from the medical technology sector was increased in the third quarter. Plastics Technology
