Active polymers improve silicone release coatings

A special additive, active organo functional polymers, is designed to aid the anchorage of thermally cured solventless silicone release coatings to polyester films.

Momentive Performance Materials Inc., created by the sale of GE's Advanced Materials business to Apollo Management, L.P., announces improvements that extend the shelf life of AnchorSil* 2000 anchorage additive "polymers", enhancing the ease of use in the production of film liners for the tape and label marketplace. AnchorSil 2000 additive aids the anchorage of thermally cured formulated, solventless silicone release coatings to polyester films.

AnchorSil 2000 anchorage additives are 100% active organo-functional polymers designed to aid the anchorage of thermally cured solventless silicone release coatings to polyester films. Enhancements to AnchorSil 2000 anchorage additive include new manufacturing, transportation and storage processes that improve stability of the product and help preserve its excellent performance.

AnchorSil 2000 anchorage additive improves anchorage on treated and non-treated polyester films and is effective in formulations with and without controlled release additives.
