NOVA Chemicals resins insulate concrete forms better NOVA Chemicals introduces new expandable polystyrene resins for stronger insulating concrete forms for residential, commercial and industrial construction projects.
NOVA Chemicals Corporation announces the commercial availability of EPS 35MB-ICF, enhanced expandable polystyrene resins that deliver best-in-class performance in insulating concrete form (ICF) applications. ICFs are lightweight, high-strength, permanent concrete forms with built-in insulation. ICFs made with NOVA Chemicals' EPS 35MB-ICF resins enable significant molding cycle time improvements and provide outstanding strength in residential, commercial and industrial construction projects. "NOVA Chemicals is committed to driving ongoing innovation in the rapidly growing ICF industry with our leading EPS resins and technology," said Charles Gounaris, Director, EPS Business for NOVA Chemicals. "Our new EPS resins for ICFs deliver substantial processing advantages for molders and improved performance attributes for builders. In addition, these resins result in smooth-surfaced ICFs that are easily finished."
NOVA Chemicals leveraged its extensive experience in EPS technology for construction applications and its relationships with leading ICF molders and distributors to develop EPS 35MB-ICF. The result for molders is improved yields due to easier mold filling and improved packing within molds, as well as greater cycle time flexibility due to shorter molding cycles and pre-foam aging times. The benefits of ICFs made with EPS 35MB-ICF also include dimensional stability and significant improvements in flexural strength compared to competing products, resulting in improved reliability for builders. NOVA Chemicals' EPS 35MB-ICF resins have been trialed extensively in ICF applications in a wide range of climatic conditions, with very favorable results. EPS 35MB-ICF resins are currently available throughout North America and Latin America in sample or commercial quantities. Responsible Care® is a registered trademark of the Canadian Chemical
Producers Association (CCPA) in Canada and is a registered service mark
