Webster Plastics Achieves ISO Certification

Webster Plastics announces certification of ISO 14001-2004 standards for use of energy and resources, leading to reduced costs and environmental impact over time.

Located in Fairport, New York, USA, Webster Plastics, a business unit of Parker Hannifin Corporation's Chomerics Division, is a custom plastics injection molder of solutions for transportation, medical, telecom, consumer and military applications. The automotive industry represents a significant percentage of its international customer base and includes plastics applications such as transmission components, engine housings, cylinder head covers, mechanical and electrical components.

The company operates a 75,000 sq. ft. facility housing 45 plastics injection molding machines and a variety of secondary operations.

The ISO 14001:2004 certification is the internationally recognized standard for Environmental Management Systems (EMS). It provides guidance on how to manage the environmental aspects of a company's plastics activities, products and services more effectively, taking into consideration environmental protection, pollution prevention and socioeconomic needs.

"Compliance with ISO 14001:2004 provides Webster Plastics with more efficient use of energy and resources, leading to reduced costs and environmental impact over time. It improves the reliability of our internal operations to meet customer requirements, as well as Webster Plastics' overall performance, and complements our recent certification to ISO/TS 16949:2002," states business unit manager John Beswick.
