New plastics packaging site for Rexam

Rexam, (London Stock Exchange under the symbol REX) the global consumer packaging company, has opened its first plastic packaging plant in Poland.

The new facility, located in Lodz, Poland's second largest city, west of and next only to Warsaw, is further evidence of the company’s strategy to invest in growth and emerging markets. The greenfield project, part of the acquisition of Precise Technology in December 2005, successfully started production in mid-April. Rexam will now be able to offer new and existing clients in the Home & Personal Care markets fast and reliable deliveries of plastics parts to all in Europe.

The new facility will house 14 moulding machines with high-speed robotics and assembly. Capabilities include plastic injection molding, manual and automated assembly, ultrasonic welding, labeling, and other value added activities.
