New generation of flexible
acrylic copolymer coatings
Rohm and Haas announces the launch of TianBa 2000, a new coatings product
that has been developed to meet Chinese customer needs.
This advanced coatings product introduction clearly demonstrates Rohm
and Haas’ commitment to provide swift response and innovative products
to meet local customers’ needs. TianBa* 2000 is exhibited to Chinese
customers for the first time at the China Roofing and Waterproofing Exhibition
on September 24th.
TianBa 2000 is the new generation flexible acrylic copolymer with broad
applicability for use in cement-based and non-cement-based waterproof
coatings, flexible plastering mortar for thermal insulation systems, external
flexible putties, ceramic tile adhesives, and mortar repair. Extensive
studies demonstrate that TianBa 2000 has better waterproofing, flexibility,
and alkali resistance than similar existing products. TianBa 2000 is environmentally
advanced technology, which is low-odor and low in volatile organic compounds.

Rohm and Haas is the leader in developing unique specialty materials that

which reported sales of more than USD $2 billion, has had a significant
presence in China for more than 20 years, bringing acrylic emulsion and
additive technology for the architectural paint market, as well as a range
of products serving industrial coatings needs.
Rohm and Haas is committed to providing products to meet the needs of
local markets. The Rohm and Haas China Research and Development Center
opened in September 2006 and is located in the Shanghai Zhangjiang High-Tech
Industrial Zone. It has nearly 600 employees, 200 among which are R&D
scientists, engineers and technicians. With a total investment target
of USD $60 million, Rohm and Haas has spent USD $30 million in the first
phase of the CRDC.
TianBa 2000 has low glass transition temperature which provides extra
flexibility in a variety of both cementitious and non-cementitious applications.
It has very good alkali and efflorescence resistance which delivers good
physical and aesthetic properties even under extreme conditions. The solids
of Tianba 2000 is high, its provides extra formulating latitude to formulation
designers. The unique manufacturing process of TianBa 2000 enhances its
workability and pot life in cementitious formulae without sacrificing
early strength development.
