Help for brewers to
optimize production processes
To help brewers improve productivity, efficiency and product quality,
Rockwell Automation introduces its Brewhouse Solution.
The solution, which integrates control, information, implementation and
support offerings, is a standard application designed to help brewers
optimize production processes through improved process control, production
visibility and business intelligence. As a result, brew masters can better
manage their operations, improve throughput, reduce waste and decrease
operating costs.

A combination of control platform, information software and professional
services helps brewers better monitor and control production processes
to optimize their manufacturing operations.
Adaptable to meet the unique needs of each customer, the Brewhouse Solution
provides brewers with the tools and industry expertise to help solve specific
performance challenges and facilitate better decision making. Based on
the Rockwell Automation Integrated Architecture system, which includes
the Logix Control Platform and FactoryTalk* integrated production and
performance suite, the solution helps users manage the production of multiple
products, while providing the consistency needed to meet quality requirements.
The information management and reporting capabilities provided through
the FactoryTalk suite help production personnel analyze operations and
identify opportunities to improve yield and decrease waste. Capturing
and analyzing accurate real-time information can help brewers identify
improvement opportunities, maximize existing production equipment and
reduce operational and maintenance costs.
The FactoryTalk Integrated Production and Performance Suite, consists
of six distinct production disciplines, addresses diverse plant information
needs such as enterprise to plant-wide systems integration, MES, asset
management, control system connectivity and HMI/SCADA.

This approach can lead to process issues such as recipe inflexibility,
difficulty in repeating good runs, human error in data acquisition, scheduling,
data analysis, and reliability.

typical processes and activities that take place in a brewery. Its engineers
then developed a common set of functional specifications for each unit
operation, detailed software design and reusable modules needed to develop
the application. Leveraging years of industry expertise, as well as input
from former brew masters and technical managers, Rockwell Automation engineers
provide global delivery and support on the solution that brewers can use
as a consistent automation base for applications across multiple facilities.
