PET packaging jars provide a sweet deal The re-emergence of individually sold confectionery has seen a growth in popularity of PET packaging jars from RPC Containers Blackburn.
“We are seeing a lot of interest from customers who require a large
jar format offering excellent display and product protection properties
for confectionery products,” explains Sean Dyer, General Sales Manager
at RPC Blackburn. It is not only as a means of packaging individual sweets that PET jars are making their mark. “Many confectionery brands have recognised that jars make a distinctive gift format, with the large decoration area providing space for eye-catching label designs to enhance a premium brand image,” confirms Sean Dyer.
The success of RPC Containers Blackburn’s PET confectionery jars has been underlined by their use for a range of products from What Next Candy. The company specializes in novelty and character licensed confectionery but also manufactures a wide range of gift confectionery. What Next Candy recognized that the jar format would be ideal for the range, as the company’s Logistics Manager, Sean Duffy, explains. “Jars are eye-catching on shelf but extremely practical in the home, as they are re-closable and even reusable once the contents have been consumed.” What Next Candy turned to RPC Blackburn for its expertise in injection moulded PET jars for packaging their products. The 3.4ltr and 4.5ltr jars are decorated with distinctive labels and supplied with a number of colored lids from RPC Halstead to suit the company’s branding requirements. The range – comprising toffee coated popcorn, Flying Saucers and chocolate balls – retails in a number of leading British high street stores, including British Home Stores. “RPC Blackburn has been a reliable and helpful supplier, and the
quality of the jars has underlined the image of the range as high-quality
gift confectionery,” confirms Sean Duffy. Other customers who are using PET jars from RPC Blackburn include Monkhill
Confectionery, Nestlé, Tangerine and Odra.
