Meat packaging tub gives the convenient touch The new bespoke multi-layer packaging tub from RPC gives easier access to and serving of meats with a resealable barrier lid.
RPC Bebo Plastik has created a bespoke multi-layer tub for a range of sausage meats from leading German meat processor Stockmeyer. The containers, thermoformed in polypropylene with EVOH providing the barrier against oxygen ingress, were designed by Stockmeyer as a replacement for the more traditional method of packing the meat in sausage skins. The new packs offer a greater level of convenience for consumers, in particular giving easier access to and serving of the product, the ability to reseal the pack between uses and better storage. The rounded design creates a more modern image for the products on shelf. Injection moulded lids are colour co-ordinated for the various meats in the range and colourful labels help to maximise brand identity.
RPC Bebo was selected for the project for its acknowledged experience in barrier packaging. “We wanted a more convenient packaging format but it was also vital
that product quality was not compromised in any way,” explains Mr
Klünder from Stockmeyer marketing. “With RPC Bebo, we have
found the ideal packaging partner who offered valuable assistance in the
development process and was able to meet all the criteria for our new
pack.” Packaging Manufacturing Jobs - Post Employment Opportunity!
