Packaging redesign focus for ARAL

RPC Verpackungen Kutenholz, Germany has developed packaging for a new 4 litre plastics can for ARAL, part of the BP Group.

The packaging redesign focuses not only on the aesthetic appearance of the blow moulded can but on amending measurements in order to simplify the filling process. The HDPE can, exclusively designed for the customer, is produced in three different ARAL blue colours with matching screw caps.

The cans from RPC Kutenholz are mainly sold in Germany and also exported to Asia.

RPC Kutenholz
- Mono layer: bottles from most polymers (PE, PP, PVC, PET, PETG, PAN) and Adflex for soft touch effect. Packaging from 15ml to 5 litres.

- Co-extrusion: blow-moulded barrier bottles and a Standard range available including Food Service jars & ambient shelf stable packs.

- Custom design service & moulds produced in-house. Principal markets are Food, Cosmetics & Personal Care, Household Chemicals, Mineral Oils & Pharmaceuticals.

With approx. 2,500 stations and roughly 600 million customer contacts each year, the company has the largest network of filling stations in Germany. With a market share of around 22%, Aral is the leader in the German station market, which is the third largest in the world. BP is the umbrella brand of the company, which conducts business with the aviation as well as the gas, electricity and solar energy industries.

RPC has 13 blow moulding manufacturing sites producing a wide range of custom moulded and standard bottles, jars and large containers in sizes from 150ml to 30 litres. Key markets served include food and drink, personal care, garden and DIY, chemical, industrial, cleaning and janitorial and a full design and development service is available for customised or bespoke packaging, from initial concept to product launch.
