Universal Top Jaws Schunk Tooling, Machining SCHUNK, a manufacturer of Tooling, Workholding and Automation Components introduces universal hard top jaws for machining that aggressively bite into the work piece.
SCHUNK introduces a further addition to its large chuck jaw offering - the universal top jaws SZKU. The flexibility of these jaws will help users to reduce set-up times and costs, especially for applications with small back sizes. The specific design of the universal jaws are the three rows of clamping "blades", which allow an aggressive bite of the jaw in the workpieces. Workpieces can be clamped on the OD or the ID. The exchangeable workpiece stop enables the adjustment to different clamping depths with the same set of jaws. Universal hard top jaws permit the user to cover up to 4 clamping positions as well as bar feeding, with a single set of jaws. A very large clamping range reduces your set-up times and costs working more efficiently. Compared to clamping with conventional hard jaws, the additional form-fit clamping makes it possible to machine the workpiece with higher cutting performance at lower clamping force. Universal top jaws are available in five sizes for lathe chuck diameters
165, 210, 250, 315 and 400 mm. Read a recent press release from Schnuk about; 'Fine balanced tool assemblies from SCHUNK, like the new ACURO Plus, make the balancing of toolholders much easier helping to reduce problems that unbalanced tooling can cause.'
