New DAF product for water and wastewater

The RC Series flotation unit is a tank separator for dissolved air assisted separation of free and,or flocculated solids from water and wastewater.

The RC Series flotation unit from Siemens Water Technologies is a high-built tank separator for dissolved air assisted separation (DAF) of free and/or flocculated solids from water and wastewater. 11 Standard sizes treat between 20 and 2000 gpm in a single tank.

Process water or wastewater enters the RC Series unit via a distribution manifold to evenly spread the flow across the entire width of the system. As the water passes through the manifold, it is injected with a side stream of recirculated, clarified water. This recirculated stream contains air dissolved under pressure by a special multistage turbine pump. When this super saturation of dissolved air is released into the raw wastewater at atmospheric pressure, the air comes out of solution and forms bubbles 30-50 micron in diameter. These small bubbles attach to equally sized or larger solids particles (floc) and give them buoyancy to float to the surface of the tank. Fast rising particles go immediately to the surface, and slower rising particles are separated and floated in the plate pack polishing zone.

Each unit is equipped with a duplex aeration/recirculation system and pneumatic control system. Two recirculation pumps are installed; one for the operation of the unit and the other as an installed ready-to-go standby. The pneumatic control panels contain the pressure switches, solenoid valves, pressure gauges and rotameter necessary for aeration system control and maximized efficiency.

The RC Series DAF is fabricated of high quality stainless steel and engineered to handle a wide range of flow rates and pollution levels. The high-built design provides for a large amount of effective surface area available for hydraulic loading capabilities relative to the footprint area required. The combination of corrugated plates, thickening techniques and skimmer design produces sludge with very high dry solids content. Maximum removal efficiency is achieved by the addition of parallel corrugated plates mounted at an inclined angle within the separation area. This design also minimizes short circuit currents, temperature gradients and turbulence.

The RC Series DAF can be packaged with other components necessary to provide an integrated solution to meet your specific requirements.
