Textron Businesses Capture
Headlines at Oshkosh and Farnborough

--Textron businesses once again dominate the Aviation headlines at the
2004 Farnborough International Airshow in England and the EAA in Oshkosh,
Wisconsin.
Reinforcing its leadership and ingenuity in the global aviation arena,
Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) businesses have - once again - dominated headlines
and captured customer mind share at two of the industry's most prestigious
and high profile forums: the 2004 Farnborough International Airshow
in England and the Experimental Aircraft Association's (EAA) AirVenture
Convention in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

partnerships and advancements at Oshkosh and Farnborough," said Lewis

Following are highlights of Textron news from the recent Oshkosh
and Farnborough events:
- Cessna Aircraft established another industry-first by delivering
its 150,000th single engine piston aircraft - a 172S Skyhawk SP. The
aircraft is commemorated by a one-of-a-kind emblem and was delivered
to Sporty's Pilot Shop during a ceremony held at the EAA AirVenture
show in Oshkosh. The 172 Skyhawk SP will be Sporty's "2004 Super Sweepstakes
Grand Prize" and is valued at more than $200,000.
- Cessna announced that the 172 Skyhawk now offers a factory-installed,
all-glass cockpit -- the Garmin G1000. The new, jet-like G1000 avionics
suite integrates all primary flight, navigation, communication, terrain,
traffic, weather and engine sensor data on two large 10.4-inch glass
display units. Cessna also unveiled details for its extensive G1000
orientation program, which meets the FAA/Industry Training Standards
(FITS), and is designed to assist customers in the transition from
traditional aircraft panel gauges to the new all-glass cockpit.
- Cessna announced that is has begun building the Citation Mustang
prototype's tooling and parts and has completed the selection of approximately
80 percent of the aircraft's suppliers through its supplier source
selection process. The company expects to name the remaining suppliers
by the end of 2004.
- Lycoming Engines, the industry's leader in the manufacture and support
of piston aircraft engines, commemorated its 75th anniversary at Oshkosh.
The company also announced plans to implement new proprietary design
enhancements across its engine families under a phased production
schedule beginning early next year.
