Lower-Cost COC Grade for Flexible Packaging Ticona Technical Polymers introduces a new, more cost-effective grade
of cyclic olefin copolymer for packaging applications.
Ticona, the engineering polymers business of Celanese Corporation, has
introduced a new, more cost-effective grade of Topas® COC (cyclic olefin
copolymer) for packaging applications. This second-generation COC, Topas
8007F-100, provides a broad processing window and an excellent cost-performance
ratio as a blending component in polyethylene based packaging films to
add stiffness, thermoformability, controlled tear, improved sealing and
antiblock characteristics. The unique properties of Topas COC contribute to its use in many packaging
applications and markets, including flexible food packaging, blister packs,
medical overwraps, pouches, forming webs and shrink films, as well as
rigid packaging applications that include medical bottles, vials and syringes. Ticona Technical Polymers is one of the businesses of Celanese Corporation.
Ticona produces and markets a broad range of engineering polymers at production,
compounding and research facilities in the USA, Germany and Brazil. Find
