Ticona raises prices for plastics products

Price increases for its polyester, long fiber reinforced plastics, polyoxymethylene, and liquid crystal polymer product lines, announced by Ticona engineering polymers.

Ticona, the engineering polymers business of Celanese Corporation, will increases prices on Celanex* polybutylene terephthalate, Impet* polyethylene terephthalate, Vandar* thermoplastic polyester blends, and Riteflex* thermoplastic elastomer will increase $0.12/lb. Celcon* and Hostaform* polyoxymethylene will increase $0.07/lb. Celstran* long fiber reinforced thermoplastic polyamide and polyurethane grades will see a price increase of $0.12/lb. Vectra* liquid crystal polymer will increase by $0.25/lb.

Pricing will increase as existing contracts allow and will apply in the Americas to shipments beginning November 1, 2006.
