Ticona Increases Prices for Engineering Thermoplastics

Manufacturing News Center - Price increases to be effective December 1, 2004

Florence, Ky.,-November, 1, 2004-Jobwerx News --Ticona has announced that effective December 1, 2004 it will increase the prices of its acetal copolymer, polyester, long fiber reinforced thermoplastics, polyphenylene sulfide and liquid crystal polymer products.

Prices are being increased for the following polymers as indicated:

• Celcon®, Hostaform® and Duracon® acetal copolymer US$0.10/lb.

• Celanex® and Duranex® polybutylene terephthalate US$0.10/lb.

• Impet® polyethylene terephthalate US$0.10/lb.

• Vandar® thermoplastic polyester blends US$0.10/lb.

• Riteflex® thermoplastic elastomer US$0.10/lb.

• Celstran® long fiber reinforced thermoplastic US$0.10/lb.

• Vectra® liquid crystal polymer US$0.20/lb.

Prices are also being increased for Fortron® polyphenylene sulfide (PPS)*, depending on grade and quantity, as follows:

• Fortron PPS – mineral filled US$0.25 to 1.00/lb.

• Fortron PPS – glass reinforced US$0.35 to 1.03/lb.

• Fortron PPS – unfilled US$0.41 to 2.41/lb.

• Fortron PPS - specialty grades Minimum of 10%

*Fortron® PPS is produced by Fortron Industries, a joint venture of Ticona and Kureha Chemicals Industries.
