Trelleborg completes acquisition of Kawneer Rubber and Plastics

The acquisition of Kawneer Rubber and Plastics and its the production operations from Bristol, Indiana by Trelleborg AB has now been completed.

Kawneer Rubber and Plastics (KRP), owned by Kawneer Company Inc., has annual sales of approximately SEK 90 million with about 40 employees. KRP manufactures polymer sealing products, such as extruded profiles, mainly for the construction and transportation industries. The company has production operations in Bristol, Indiana.

In Europe, Trelleborg already has a leading position in extruded profiles, and this acquisition gives a leading position also in the United States.

“Together with EPG, acquired earlier this year, KRP will give us an even stronger growth platform for our operations in North America, in construction as well as in other industries,” says Peter Suter, President of Trelleborg Building Systems. “We will now have the opportunity to transfer know-how from Europe to the North American market, and we foresee synergies between KRP and EPG, technically and with regard to administration.”

Trelleborg’s acquisition of the protective suit operations, UAB Trella, from Lithuanian company Svytis has also been completed as of July 31, 2006.
