Trelleborg acquires precision seals and rubber components biz

Trelleborg Sealing Solutions has acquired a US distributor of hydraulic seals and a wide range of customized rubber components products.

Trelleborg has acquired the privately owned US distributor AFM Incorporated, which has been in business for over 25 years and has about 45 employees and annual sales of approximately SEK 85 M.
AFM is a rapidly growing distributor of hydraulic seals, O-rings, bushings, bearings and customized rubber components and molded rubber solutions with its head office in Tigard, Oregon, and warehouses and offices in Fresno, California and Cordova, Tennessee.

The company’s range of products includes dynamic seals, static seals and rotary seals. The bulk of AFM’s current sales are to OEM customers within several industrial segments, among others aerospace. AFM’s operations will be integrated into Trelleborg Sealing Solutions.

“AFM is a profitable and well-managed company with a wide range of products. This acquisition increases Trelleborg Sealing Solution’s market presence in the US Northwest and central California,” says Claus Barsøe, Business Area President of Trelleborg Sealing Solutions.
