Cessna Aircraft supports Women in Aviation Conference Cessna Aircraft, a conference sponsor of the Women in Aviation Conference, will award two flight training scholarships in Orlando.
For the 11th consecutive year, Cessna Aircraft Company, a Textron Inc.
(NYSE: TXT) company, is supporting the Women in Aviation Conference, Feb.
14-17 in Orlando, Fla. Cessna, a conference sponsor, is awarding two flight
training scholarships. Cessna is awarding two scholarships to be presented at the conference gala Saturday night. The first scholarship, valued at $5,000, will provide the training required for a Private Pilot’s license, while the second scholarship, valued at $18,800, is for a Cessna Citation Encore type rating, which will enable the recipient to fly multiple aircraft in the Citation family.
Cessna also is participating in the Women in Aviation Membership Sponsorship Program, which provides 10,600 female private pilots with an annual membership to the organization. The 2007 event is the 18th annual Women in Aviation Conference that features
prominent general session speakers, safety and informational seminars,
an Inspection Authorization (IA) renewal for maintenance technicians,
and an extensive aviation trade show. Approximately 4,000 pilots, mechanics,
flight attendants, airport managers, students and aviation enthusiasts
participate in the conference.
