Plastics packaging Kautex pride

Kautex has a long history in the plastics container business and also producing packaging for personal care products and cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, household cleaners and food items.

Kautex, a Textron company, is a leading global supplier of plastic fuel systems, including plastic and metal fuel assemblies, however, they also produce packaging items for various applications.

Picture this: you are sunbathing on a sandy beach during a winter break and you grab a refreshing fruit drink. Although you might not know it, Textron is right there with you – or at least a product from a Textron company is.

From fruit drinks to shampoos and seasonings, a wide variety of products are packaged in containers manufactured by Kautex.

”Most of the world views our work as being related to fuel systems,” says Eva Baulig, Director Sales & Commercial Industrial Products at Kautex. “But we do much more than that. We also produce packaging for personal care products and cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, household cleaners and food items.”

A long history in the plastic container business

In fact, when the company was first formed in 1935, its primary business was the production of bottles. Over time, the company expanded into new areas. In 1948 Kautex designed and constructed the first European blow-molding machine and 16 years later it designed a plastic fuel tank prototype for the automotive industry. “Today,” said Wolfgang Cohnen, Director Operations of Kautex’s Industrial Products sector, “many Europeans still consider Kautex to be the pioneer for manufacturing bottles.”

Flexible production

When it comes to producing plastic packaging, Kautex prides itself on flexibility. They can fill small special orders or larger orders of up to 60 million units a year, as with fruit drink bottles. Kautex can also enhance containers through embossing, thermal imaging, labeling and sleeves. This provides their clients with a one-step solution. And it’s an area they hope to expand one day.

“We are excited about the prospect for future growth with our packaging,” says Baulig. “We want everyone to know that when they reach for that refreshing fruit drink, Kautex may have played a part.”

Kautex, has 31 locations in 14 countries and was founded in 1935. The company assumed the role of technological front-runner in the development and manufacture of blow-molded plastic products.
