XANO acquires plastics rotational moulding components biz Rotosplast, designers, developers and manufacturers of plastics products as components and systems using rotational moulding technology has been sold to The XANO Group.
XANO Industri AB, via their subsidiary Cipax, has signed an agreement for the acquisition of all shares in AS Rotosplast. Main products manufactured using rotational moulding consist of plastics waste containers, pallets, lavatory toilet seats, composters, small boats and more. Rotosplast (ROTOS) operations are run in rented premises in Saue close by Tallinn. The number of employees is 25 and sales totals SEK 20 million with a profit level of approximately eight per cent. Balance sheet total is SEK 9 million, SEK 7 million of which is shareholders’ equity. This acquisition is a cash transaction and details were not made public. The XANO Group includes since before the rotational moulding company Cipax, with manufacturing units in Estonia, Norway and Sweden. The acquisition of Rotosplast gives the Group additional capacity and expertise in rotational moulding technology for plastics systems and components that well supplement Cipax’ operations, mainly in Estonia.
Cipax, part of the XANO Group, manufactures plastics products by rotational moulding with primarily the environmentally friendly polyethylene, which is cold, chemical and UV-radiation resistant, and is a market leader in Sweden and other Nordic and Baltic countries. Plastics products manufactured are for the marine, containers, materials handling, environment and sanitation, and lighting and signs markets. The company also has expertise in the design of both plastics products and tooling with the majority of the production completed at the company’s unit in Estonia. XANO is quoted on the Nordic Exchange and comprises nearly twenty companies in Sweden, Estonia, Finland, Norway and China. In terms of industries, XANO’s products comprise everything from components for the electronics industry and medical device parts produced in a clean room environment to automation equipment and consumer products such as baby equipment and sports accessories. The Group companies are divided into the business areas "Automation" and "Industry". Business Area Automation consists of companies working with development and production of automation equipment. Operations involve systems supplied to industries for food and medical technical products, packaging machines that handle lids and ends for food and beverage packaging and in-house developed book management systems for libraries. Business area Industry includes companies that supply advanced manufacturing
and development services, mainly for industrial products. Manufacturing
involves rotational moulding, injection moulding and extrusion of plastics,
as well as machining of plastic and metal. The companies supply customer-specific
components and systems as well as in-house developed products within a
number of different areas of application.
