Okuma America is the $400 million U.S. affiliate of Okuma Corporation, a leading worldwide machine tool builder founded in Nagoya, Japan in 1898. Established in Long Island, New York in 1984, Okuma America now employs 500 people at its 364,000 sq. ft. headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina, which includes training and manufacturing facilities.

Okuma in partnership with PMC Machinery has opened a specialized application resource technical center and advanced training facility that is specifically designed to serve the North American automotive manufacturing industry. The Okuma Detroit Technical Center is located adjacent to the PMC Machinery facility at 15800 Centennial Drive in Northville, Michigan.
